Background
The
Spa and Pool Association of Queensland (SPASA) had a website that
was aging and growing out of control. Like many businesses they relied
on technical support to update their websites. This lead to transcriptions
errors delays and miscommunications.
Challenges and Opportunities
The most challenging component for this project was to keep the interface design bot easy to use and easy to update. I used curves and blue tones to communicate a cool water feel, while keeping to colours solid thus reducing download times.
Options
Three designs and three options were put forward. Each of the designs took a different approach and were based on sound user interface research.
The three maintenance options proposed were:
- My content management solution;
- Dreamweaver; and
- Another third party online content editing option.
Solution
After discussing a number of options with the management team we decided upon a Macromedia solution. With the possibility of moving forward to Macromedia's content management system at a later date.
Benefits
With only a little training, SPASA Queensland is able to keep their website up to date. Furthermore, there is an upgrade path to Macromedia contributor for future growth.
